Art Classes.

I have signed up for a painting and drawing class for beginners that starts later this month so I thought I'd have a go at drawing so I can compare my before and after skills. This is a sketch of Misha, my neighbour's boating cat.

Beautiful sketch and as HHMN says you have mastered the fur. Enjoy your drawing class. For inspiration have a look at Karen Cole's site. Her beach sketches are amazing.

Great drawing!
I hope you enjoy the class... wonder what you'll be asked to draw...
I'm a bit old fashioned when it comes to teaching drawing :) I used to teach pupils who were complete beginners.. kids and adults ..and they produced fabulous results. I am a great believer in really looking and trying over and over again and in measuring lengths and angles... and drawing the shapes in between and .. oh dear I'm off!!

Yes - that fur looks good! Well done you for getting to the art classes. Something I have always promised myself but never got around to

Whitewater & Grey Wolf - Thank you very much that is very kind of you to say so.

HHnB & Robyn - Thank you for the comments about the fur. That is my first pencil drawing in over 10 years and I've never tried capturing fur before. Your comments give me hope! And Robyn, thanks for the link I'll certainly check it out.

Rima - It's a good job you live so far away because I'd be begging you for lessons!

Avus - If I can do it then so can you!!!!!
