The Old Gravel Pits

Our mooring used to be an old gravel pit before a channel was dug to join it to the Thames. There are a number of disused gravel pits here. They are mainly used for fishing and soon the new Wilts and Berks canal will cut few one or two of them.

But for now they are peaceful and used mainly by waterfowl.

Thank You for presenting photo's showing
the blue skies of summer.

They are exactly the right medicine to combat the grey of days of rain and storm.

Hello,

The photos were actually taken last week just after the storms we had here. It was such a beautiful day that it does look like summer -- The gales seem to have hardly affected the trees. I was expecting them to be bare.
